Tenet says Aetna agrees to employ 400 Tenet physicians in its network under new contract

Hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp. said Thursday it agreed to a contract with health insurer Aetna Inc. under which Aetna will use 400 doctors who work for TTenet said Aetna will include the doctors in its provider networks. The doctors are part of the Tenet Physicians business, and their specialties include primary care areas like family practice and internal medicine, as well as medical and surgical specialties.

In afternoon trading, Tenet shares rose 4 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $1.06. Shares of Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna declined 61 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $23.75.enet in its health plan networks.
