Health care services company Kindred Healthcare Inc. said Monday Edward L. Kuntz will step down as executive chairman and become chairman of the board of directors, effective May 20.
Kindred also said it named Fred. J. Kleisner, president and chief executive of Morgans Hotel Group, to the board of directors. Meanwhile, John H. Klein and Mr. Garry N. Garrison will resign from Kindred's board after the company's 2009 annual shareholder meeting.
"These changes demonstrate our desire to continually evolve our board and to seek opportunities to add independent directors that will strengthen our capabilities," said President and Chief Executive Paul J. Diaz, in a statement.
